Support to farmers; Senior citizen cycled 1000 km for 11 days
New Delhi: Satyadev Manzi, a 60-year-old senior resident of Bihar’s Siwan district, has reached the Delhi-Haryana Tikri border to support farmers’ protests. In order to support the farmers, 60-year-old Manjhi cycled for 11 consecutive days covering a distance of 1000 km. Manjhi has requested the Center to repeal the three agricultural laws in the interest of farmers.

Speaking to ANI, Satyadeva Manjhi said, “It took me 11 days to reach the Tikri border from Siwan. I have requested the government to repeal all three agricultural laws. I will stay here till the farmers ‘agitation ends.’

Farmers have been protesting on various borders of the national capital Delhi since November 26. The farmers are demanding the repeal of the three central agricultural laws. The central government held discussions with the leaders of the farmers’ associations five times. However, the farmer's issues have not been resolved yet.

The Supreme Court has made this suggestion

Meanwhile, the country’s Supreme Court has upheld the right of farmers to agitate for their rights. However, the Supreme Court has ruled that it is wrong to block highways or cities for protests. So far, the government has held several discussions with farmers.

However, the problem of farmers has not been solved yet. The apex court has directed that a committee be set up to look into the matter. The apex court has also asked the Center to look into whether the implementation of the Union Agriculture Act can be kept pending instead of implementing it till a solution is found.
