New Delhi: Police have arrested two persons in connection with the rape of an event manager in Mumbai. One of the accused has been remanded in police custody while the other has been remanded in judicial custody.
A case has been registered against Mehta under Section 376 and he has been remanded in police custody. A case has been registered against Davar under Section 354 and he has been remanded in judicial custody, a senior police official said.
According to the information received, the incident took place on Friday. Mehta was introduced through social media. She had gone to Delhi on Wednesday. There she stayed in a hotel. The next day she met Mehta and his friend Davar. Davar tried to molest her, she alleges. So Mehta had come to drop him off at the hotel. She also alleged that he raped her in a hotel room.
