The farmers’ leaders said that a Bandh agitation would be held across the country on December 14. ‘Delhi Chalo’ will also be announced in and around Delhi. What was the proposal of the central government?
The central government had assured the farmers in writing that the system of minimum support price for procurement would continue. The government had proposed the necessary amendments on at least seven issues. In a proposal to the leaders of 13 unions, the government said it was ready to provide the necessary clarifications considering their concerns over the new agricultural laws, which came into force in September. However, the proposal did not mention the cancellation of the three central agricultural laws and this is the main demand of the farmers.
